Dura Tube™ has been specifically designed for industrial vacuum, sewer cleaning and the hydro excavation industry. Its durable design stands up to the everyday vacuuming of sand, pieces of broken pipe and concrete, rocks, soil, mud and organic material.
In wear and dent resistance tests, Dura Tube’s performance over .072” and .090” thick 3004-H22 irrigation tubes was dramatic. Dura Tube had an increased wear resistance of 365% over .072” thick wall tubing, and a 288% increased wear resistance over .090” thick wall tubing of 3004-H22 irrigation tubing.
Its fair and safe to say Dura Tube, with its T6063T6 aluminum alloy construction, will last over twice as long as .072” or .090” wall irrigation tubing while being used in a highly abrasive environment. Dura Tube’s seamless construction has a wall thickness of .120” for 8” O.D. tubing and .106” wall thickness on 6” O.D. tubing.
Dura Tube is heat treated to C15 to C16 on a Rockwell scale compared to C10 to C12 for that of a standard irrigation 3004-H22 aluminum tube. This is one of the reasons Dura Tube’s wear rate is improved by 40% and 28% more dent resistant over conventional 3004-H22 aluminum irrigation tubing.
If a vacuum tube can resist dents to ensure good air flow as Dura Tube has proven it can, this will equal better C.F.M. and vacuum efficiency. A dented tube will restrict air flow, creating less C.F.M. and diminished vacuum efficiency.
